Sports and Markets at Neds 

Neds overall sports offering is broken up into two sections. They have a complete sportsbook selection and a separate racing section for those that love greyhound and horse racing. Coming back to the sportsbook, there are 25 different sports listed (separate to horse and greyhound racing) that you can bet on as a member of Neds. The three most popular sports include American football, soccer, and basketball; and this is the case because these three sports host the most featured events on an annual basis.

But of course, this leaves 22 other sports for Neds members to bet on, although they aren’t quite as popular as the three previously mentioned. Some of the sports that are strategically offered for the Australian market include Yachting, Surfing, Cricket, Aussie Rules, Rugby League, Rugby Union, and Cycling. However these sports do not regularly provide many markets for members to bet on, and the overall coverage by Neds is significantly less.

Most online bookmakers offer a much greater amount of markets for their popular sports, and the Neds site is set up in exactly the same way. If we take the most popular sports as an example; American football regularly has around 90 markets, high-end soccer matches offer around 170 markets, and major NBA games tend to draw in around 115 total markets.

This is a truly positive thing for the Neds sportsbook, and we have already established that their offerings are more specialized in the racing department. There isn’t a single day of the year when Neds does not offer either a horse race or a greyhound race to bet on, so it’s clear that their coverage of these sports is enormous. And since the range is so large, it is no real surprise that they cover many prestigious horse races from around the globe including: The Belmont, The Kentucky Derby and multiple others. Regardless of how prestigious the race is or isn’t, Neds always offers the chance to bet on the outright winner, along with various each-way bets. 

Neds Odds and Limits: Average But Satisfying 

In order to get an accurate idea of how the Neds odds compared to other bookmakers, we examined the most popular events on the site. And in terms of sporting events, there are few that are more prestigious than Champions League Soccer. So we used this is a prime example to compare the Neds odds with the rest of the market. After combing through many of the upcoming Champions League events, we drew the conclusion that Neds is quite an average bookmaker in terms of their odds. If one team is listed as 2.0 with another online bookmaker, Neds tends to list the same team at odds of 2.05 or 1.95. There really isn’t much difference in what they offer compared to the standard market price 

So with the odds out of the way, it is, of course, important to know what limits the bookmaker enforces too. Firstly, we wanted to know what the maximum winnings were for any bet on the site, and we discovered that the limit for this is $200,000. This holds true regardless of the sport or event, but no one player can win more than $500,000 during any 24-hour time frame.

Of course, to win this kind of money you would have to bet big or make a huge multi bet, and Neds has a limit for this too. They will not accept any multibet where the odds have gone higher than 10000 to 1. This is just a way to protect the site against any huge payout and is a relatively standard practice for online bookmakers. 

Besides this, Neds is actually quite lenient concerning the betting practices of their members. You can place a bet for as little as $1 prior to any event starts, and if you want to place an in-play bet you can do this for as little as 10 cents.

Live Streaming at Neds 

As we enter the latter part of 2020, you would have thought that Neds would have at least tried to incorporate some form of live streaming services. But interestingly, this has not been the case with this bookmaker. They currently offer no live streaming for sporting events whatsoever, and this is concerning.

Neds mobile app has left no stone unturned for its customers. You can enjoy features such as on-the-go deposits and withdrawals, in-play bets on-the-go, access to the full range of sports and markets, as well as the ability to cash out bets at the push of a button. And looking beyond these features, the design of the app is straight out of the top drawer. It has the same blend color scheme of white and orange seen on the desktop site, and the layout follows a similar pattern to make it very user-friendly. 

Final Thoughts on Neds: A Solid Bookmaker

Neds is a really solid bookmaker that could evolve into one of the market leaders if they were to add just a few features. To begin with, cash-out is a feature but it isn’t available on every event. This could frustrate some members because if they wanted to cash out early to guarantee profits, they could be out of luck purely down to Ned’s discretion. And then we have the obvious one, where Neds does not offer any sort of live streaming – not even for their beloved horse and greyhound races.

These are important factors that need to change before Neds can make a real rise to the top of the Australian market. But on the whole, they offer a very secure and professional platform for those who want to bet on a wide variety of events.
