Buffalo Sabres @ Chicago Blackhawks

Blackhawks are pretty inconsistent this season. They have a record of 8-11 but they are only 4 points behind the last playoff spot. With plenty of time left in the season, Chicago could get into the playoff race, especially since they are on a good run with 3 straight wins.

On the other hand, Sabres have a bit better season with a record of 10-9 and they enter this game after a win over Senators that ended their 6-game losing streak. Blackhawks seem in better form at the moment and they have also been dominating the series against Sabres lately since they have 14 wins in their last 15 matches.

Our Pick: Blackhawks on the Moneyline

Calgary Flames @ Vegas Golden Knights

Vegas started the season well but they are currently on a very bad run with 5 straight losses, which is why they have fallen down in the rankings. Calgary Flames are also pretty inconsistent and have only 2 points more than Vegas.

This seems like a hard match to predict the winner, so it might be better to bet on goals instead. Both teams score less than 3 goals per match and allow around 3 goals per game as well. With that in mind, we believe that betting on under is a smart choice.

Our Pick: Under 6 Total Goals

Dallas Stars @ Edmonton Oilers

Stars are on a great run at the moment, with 6 wins in their last 7 games. After a bad start, Dallas has now managed to get into the playoff picture with 10 wins and 10 losses. On the other hand, Edmonton has played well from the start and they have 13 wins to show for it.

Dallas has been dominating the head-to-head series with Oilers, winning 4 out of their last 5 matchups. However, Oilers have been impressive at home this season, while Stars have struggled on the road. Despite their great form, we expect Stars to lose tonight.

Our Pick: Oilers on the Moneyline

New York Islanders @ Philadelphia Flyers

Islanders are playing really well this season, having suffered only 4 losses in 17 games. They are on a 2-game winning streak and have won 4 out of their last 5 matches. On the other hand, Flyers have lost their last two games, although they have been on a good run before that.

We expect this to be an interesting duel but we still think Islanders will come out of it with a win in their pocket.

Our Pick: Islanders on the Moneyline

New York Rangers @ Florida Panthers

Despite losing their last game at home to Winnipeg, Panthers are looking good at the moment having won two straight games before that. Rangers are also finding their form recently, winning three out of their last five games. However, Rangers suffered an embarrassing loss in their last game since they conceded 9 goals to Tampa Bay.

This looks like a duel of two evenly matched teams and we think it is best to avoid betting on the final score. Instead, we believe that betting on over is a smart choice since Panthers score 3.68 goals per match and it looks like there will be plenty of goals tonight.

Our Pick: Over 6.5 Total Goals

Anaheim Ducks @ St. Louis Blues

The reigning champs have lost two games in the row now but they still have the best record in the Eastern Conference. On the other hand, Ducks are currently on an even worse run since they lost five games in a row.

While Blues do seem like they have hit a bump in their form, this is a perfect match for them to get back on track in front of their fans against a struggling team.

Boston Bruins @ Toronto Maple Leafs

A very interesting duel will take place in Toronto tonight with Bruins paying a visit to Maple Leafs. Leafs are not in a good form since they lost three games in a row but Boston is also struggling at the moment since they have 4 losses in a row as well, all of which have come against teams lower in the standings.

With that in mind, and taking into account the fact that Bruins have a lot of injury problems, we suggest taking Leafs for tonight.

Our Pick: Maple Leafs on the Moneyline

Montreal Canadiens @ Washington Capitals

Capitals are the best team so far in the NHL since they top the rankings with 32 points. They also have lost just once in their previous 8 games, which was a shootout loss against Arizona. Canadiens are not that far behind either, with 23 points from 18 games.

They have won two games in a row but they will now face Washington who has been dominating their head-to-head matchups with 6 wins in the last 10 meetings.

Our Pick: Capitals on the Moneyline

St. Louis Blues @ Columbus Blue Jackets

The reigning champs are red-hot at the moment, winning 7 out of their last 8 games. Their only loss came against Coyotes in a shootout in their last match. On the other hand, Blue Jackets are struggling lately since they have just one win in their last six games.

We like to back in-form teams, as you probably know by now, so we suggest betting on Blues in this match.

New York Rangers @ Tampa Bay Lightning

In one of the most interesting games of the evening, Lightning will play host to Rangers as both teams look to improve on their good form. Rangers have won 3 out of their last 4 games, while Tampa Bay has the same score in the last four games.

Both teams have 18 points and it seems that we are about to witness a very close game. With that in mind, we suggest betting on under because we expect good defensive performances from both teams.

Our Pick: Under 6.5 Total Goals

Carolina Hurricanes @ Buffalo Sabres

Hurricanes have gotten off to a solid start with 21 points to their name but they probably expected more before the season. Sabres are right behind them with 20 points but they are on a 5-game losing streak at the moment. Hurricanes are not much better in this regard, since they only have one win in their last five games.

While Sabres have the home court advantage, we believe that Carolina has a bit of an edge tonight because they come into this game after a convincing 8-2 win against Senators. In addition to this, Carolina has won 9 out of 10 previous matchups with Sabres.

Our Pick: Hurricanes on the Moneyline

Colorado Avalanche @ Edmonton Oilers

This is a match where anything is possible and we genuinely don’t have the slightest idea who may come on top. That being said, it seems like Avalanche is in a bit better form right now having won their last three games. Oilers enter this game after a convincing loss against Sharks and we would give a small advantage to Avs tonight.

However, we also believe that betting on goals is a better choice. Both teams score at a high rate and over in this game seems like a solid bet.

Our Pick: Over 6 Total Goals

San Jose Sharks @ Anaheim Ducks

This matchup should be very interesting since both teams are extremely inconsistent this season and it’s hard to expect anything from them. Sharks are pretty bad away from home with just two wins on the road this season. However, Sharks are on a 4-game winning streaks, while Ducks have lost four games in a row.

We like to back in-form teams and we feel that the time for Sharks to improve their record in away games tonight.

Toronto Maple Leafs @ New York Islanders

Islanders got back on the winning track with a win over Florida after they ended their 10-game winning streak against Penguins before that. So, they seem ready to get on to their next winning streak. Maple Leafs will stand in their way tonight and while they have lost two of their last three games, they are good enough to make Islanders work for it.

Leafs also have a slightly better head-to-head record recently since they won 6 out of their last 10 matchups. Despite this, we like to back teams that are in form, which Islanders definitely are.

Our Pick: Islanders on the Moneyline

Washington Capitals @ Philadelphia Flyers

After losing the game in shootout to Coyotes last night, Capitals will be looking to bounce back against Flyers on the road. They are in good form, winning 4 out of their last 5 games. They are also the best team in the NHL right now, with 30 points from 19 games.

On the other hand, Flyers are also playing well, winning 4 games in a row, although their last three wins have come in overtime, two of which in penalty shootouts. So, it seems that we are in for a treat tonight but we still believe in Capitals to get the win.

Our Pick: Capitals on the Moneyline

Chicago Blackhawks @ Vegas Golden Knights

Golden Knights are pretty inconsistent this season but they are still one of the better teams in the league since they are currently occupying 9th place in the Western Conference with 21 points. However, they also lost 4 out of their last 5 games while Blackhawks have found a bit of a form after their bad start with 3 wins in 5 games.

With that in mind, we feel it is better to avoid betting on the final score and try over in this game. Although both teams score less than 3 goals per game, their defenses are not that great and over has come in 7 out of their last 8 duels.

Columbus Blue Jackets @ Montreal Canadiens

Blue Jackets are entering this game after losing 7 out of their last 10 games and they don’t look rich with confidence at the moment. On the other hand, Canadiens are far from consistent this season, although they have a solid record and show glimpses of enormous potential occasionally.

Despite Blue Jackets winning 6 out of their last 10 head-to-head matches, we believe that Canadiens will win easily tonight since they are in better form and have the home court advantage.

Our Pick: Canadiens on the Moneyline

Pittsburgh Penguins @ New York Rangers

One of the most interesting duels of the day will be played a Madison Square garden where Rangers will take on Penguins. Both teams are in good form, with Penguins being the team to break the winning streak of Islanders that spanned for 10 games. Rangers have won 4 out of their last 6 matches and look to extend their good run in front of their supporters.

With the final score being too hard to predict, we suggest betting on total goals. Both teams average around 3.4 goals per match and that kind of offense should help them get over the total set at 6.5 goals.

Our Pick: Over 6.5 Total Goals

Colorado Avalanche @ Winnipeg Jets

Avalanche has finally snapped out of the rut, winning their last two games after losing five games in the row before that. Colorado had a very strong start and they still have a great record, despite this slip in form. On the other hand, Jets are also playing well, winning four out of the last five games.

With Jets in good form and having home court advantage, we feel like they could get the win in this game, especially since Avalanche has some injury problems to deal with as well.

Our Pick: Jets on the Moneyline

Nashville Predators @ Vancouver Canucks

Canucks are really struggling at the moment, losing 4 games in a row and only winning one game out of their last six. On the other hand, Predators are also on a 2-game losing streak. Both teams have 21 points so far in the season and it seems like this is going to be a very tight match.

While we lean towards Predators, we suggest betting on goals as a smarter choice. Both teams have very good offenses and we expect the game to have plenty of goals.

Arizona Coyotes @ Washington Capitals

Arizona lost the momentum it had to start the season in recent games since they have now lost three games in a row. On the other hand, Capitals are playing great hockey. They have won 9 out of their last 10 games and have a record of 13-5, good enough to put them on top of the Eastern Conference.

Since we like to back in-form teams and we don’t see any other outcome tonight than a convincing Washington win, we suggest betting on Capitals.

Our Pick: Capitals on the Puckline

Ottawa Senators @ Carolina Hurricanes

In their previous game just a few days ago, Senators managed to get the win against Hurricanes. Ottawa is also on a good run overall, with three wins in the last four games. On the other hand, Carolina is going into this match with four straight losses under the belt.

While Senators seem like a good pick on the surface, they are not playing well on the road, losing 7 out of their 8 games. We believe that it is time for Hurricanes to end their bad run tonight.

Our Pick: Hurricanes on the Moneyline

Toronto Maple Leafs @ Chicago Blackhawks

After losing to Flyers at home last night, Maple Leafs are heading to Chicago to try and get back on the winning track since they had a 3-game winning streak before. They also have one of the best records in the league, sitting 4th in the Eastern Conference with 22 points right now. On the other hand, Blackhawks are having a poor season so far and enter this game after a shootout loss to Penguins.

While Blackhawks have been dominating the matchup with Maple Leafs, winning 7 out of their last 10 games, we still expect Toronto to come out with the win tonight.

Our Pick: Maple Leafs on the Moneyline

Philadelphia Flyers @ Boston Bruins

Flyers are flying how at the moment, winning 4 out of their last 5 games, including the away win against Maple Leafs that ended their winning streak. However, 3 out of those 4 games have come in overtime and this will be their second game of back-to back against one of the best teams in the league.

While there is certainly a lot of room for a surprise tonight, Bruins are still heavy favorites to win and we like their chances since they have been in from for so long now.

Our Pick: Bruins on the Puckline

Edmonton Oilers @ Anaheim Ducks

Oilers just snapped their 2-game losing streak on Friday, while Ducks have also lost two games in a row before this game. So, while both teams are in the playoff picture at the moment, they seem to be in a bit of a rut and this should be a very interesting game with uncertain result.

With that in mind, we suggest betting on goals here. Both teams average slightly less than 3 goals per game and their defenses allow 2.5 goals per game, so backing under seems like a smart thing to do.

Chicago Blackhawks @ Pittsburgh Penguins

Blackhawks are struggling this season, having a record of 5-10. However, they have won two of their last three games and seemed like they were getting into form. On the other hand, Pittsburgh is playing well and has a record of 9-7.

Penguins also ended 10-game winning streak of Islanders in their last game with an overtime win. But Blackhawks have been dominating Penguins lately, winning all 10 of their most recent games. We believe it is time to end that run.

Our Pick: Penguins on the Moneyline

Vegas Golden Knights @ Washington Capitals

After falling to Maple Leafs on Thursday, Knights have now lost three of their last four games. And after the loss of Islanders against Penguins, now Capitals have the longest winning streak, spanning ten games at the moment.

While Vegas is a good team, their recent form suggests that they will struggle tonight and we like to back in-form teams. Take Capitals on the moneyline.

Our Pick: Capitals on the Moneyline

St. Louis Blues @ Calgary Flames

Blues have won 6 games in a row and the reigning champs come into this game with a lot of confidence. On the other hand, Flames are also in good form, winning 4 out of their last 5 games. All things considered, we believe that final score is best left alone.

On the goals front, both teams are scoring around 3 goals per game but they also have allowed less than 3 goals per game so far. We believe under is the smart bet.

Our Pick: Under 6 Total Goals

Nashville Predators @ San Jose Sharks

Predators come into this game after a devastating 9-4 loss against Avalanche. This was their third loss in four games, so it’s safe to say that they are struggling at the moment. On the other hand, Sharks are having a bad season with just 6 wins in 17 games.

While Predators seem to be in a rut, we like their chances tonight and we believe they will manage to get back on the winning track.

Boston Bruins @ Detroit Red Wings

Bruins are one of the best teams in the league this season, so it seems that their trip to the Finals last year was only a sign of things to come. On the other hand, Red Wings are having a horrible season with just 4 wins in 17 games and have lost their last four games in a row.

It’s unlikely that Red Wings can get their win number five tonight, so put your money on Bruins on the puckline.

Our Pick: Bruins on the Puckline

Vancouver Canucks @ Winnipeg Jets

Both teams have a similar record and enter this game in a similar form. The slight advantage goes to Jets because they are playing at home but we would rather avoid betting on the final outcome here.

Instead, we prefer backing under because Jets and Canucks usually play low-scoring games. For example, seven of their previous ten games ended up with less than 6 goals. In addition to this, neither team is among the top teams offensively, so under seems like a logical choice.

Our Pick: Under 6 Total Goals

New Jersey Devils @ Edmonton Oilers

This will be the second game of back-to-back for Devils and they will be playing against one of the best teams in the Western Conference. However, Oilers are in a bit of a rut since they lost their previous two games and have lost 3 out of their last 5.

We believe that Oilers will take these results as an extra motivation for tonight and pull a much-needed win to get back on the winning side.

Capitals have the best record in the league at the moment and they are looking like legitimate contenders for the title. On the other hand, Panthers are in the playoff race and come into this game after two straight wins.

Predicting the winner tonight is a tough task, so we suggest betting on goals. Both teams are in the top 5 in goals scored but Panthers also have one of the worst defensive records. Take the over.

Our Pick: Over 6.5 Goals

New York Rangers @ Carolina Hurricanes

Rangers have a good momentum, winning 4 out of their last 6 games. However, they also played last night and we expect them to be tired. In addition to playing on the road against a solid playoff team, it we believe that Rangers will lose tonight.

However, we also feel that taking over is a safer bet since both teams score over 3 goals per match this season.

Our Pick: Over 6.5

Pittsburgh Penguins @ New York Islanders

The winning streak of Islanders has reached 10 games now and they truly look unbeatable at the moment. And while this streak has to end at some point, we don’t think it will happen tonight.

While Penguins are a borderline playoff team and Islanders have some injury problems, Penguins are pretty bad on the road this season with just 3 wins in the last 9 games and their poor away form should continue in this game.

Our Pick: Islanders on the Moneyline

Los Angeles Kings @ Ottawa Senators

While both of these teams are struggling this season, it seems that Senators are slightly worse so far. However, they are 2-2 in their most recent games and seem to be finding their form a bit. Kings, on the other hand, have only won 1 of their last 6 games.

Senators do have some injury problems and we feel like that might be a tip on the scales for Kings in this game.

After losing 5 games in a row, Rangers got two wins in their last four matches and it looks like they are starting to turn their form around. However, they also lost their previous match with Senators at home 6-2, so we are not ready yet to declare that they have found their form.

But tonight Rangers are playing hosts for Red Wings, a team with one of the worst records in the league. Detroit also lost 9 out of last 10 games and seem completely hopeless at the moment.

Our Pick: Rangers on the Moneyline

St. Louis Blues @ Edmonton Oilers

Blues are red-hot at the moment, winning seven out of their last eight games, although their last three wins came in overtime. On the other hand, Oilers have one of the best records in the West with 22 points, just one point less than Blues. Oilers also have the home advantage and Blues are playing their second game of back-to-back.

With all being said, we feel that Oilers can break the winning streak Blues are on and get a tight win tonight.

Senators will play their second game of back-to-back after winning against Rangers last night. However, they will have a much harder task tonight since Islanders are on a great run of nine straight wins.

Islanders are dominating the competition right now and this is unlikely to change against a pretty inconsistent Senators team. On top of all that, Senators are also having injury problems and a bad head-to-head record against Islanders with 5 straight losses.

Our Pick: Islanders on the Puckline

Boston Bruins @ Montreal Canadiens

Bruins are looking unbeatable at the moment since they have a record of 11-3 and winning streak spanning 6 games. They come into this game after a home win against Penguins last night, so they may be a bit tired in this second game of back-to-back.

On the other hand, Canadiens are pretty inconsistent this season with a record of 7-7 and they come into this game after 4-1 loss to the Stars. We like the odds on Bruins and if you are afraid to back them on the road in their second game in two nights, you can take them on the puckline.

Our Pick: Boston Bruins on the Moneyline

Los Angeles Kings @ Toronto Maple Leafs

Kings finally ended their 4-game losing streak after winning against Blackhawks in overtime in their last duel but they are still one of the worst teams in the league this season with a 5-9 record. However, Maple Leafs are not great either since they have a 7-8 record, although they come into this game after a road win in Philadelphia.

It is best to avoid the final score and back over in this game since Toronto is one of the best teams in the league in scoring while Kings are one of the worst defensive teams.

Our Pick: Over 6.5 Total Goals

Colorado Avalanche @ Dallas Stars

Colorado looked like a true contender at the start of the season but now they look like a completely different team since they are on a 4-game losing streak. In addition to this, they have managed to score just 6 goals in their last 7 matches and it seems like they have completely lost their momentum.

On the other hand, Dallas is on a good run after they started the season poorly. They have won 6 out of their last 7 games and have already beaten Avalanche once this season. We always like to bet on in-form teams, which is clearly Dallas in this case.

Both teams have started the season badly and have negative records at the moment. Senators are coming into this match after a 5-2 loss to Bruins but they have managed to win 3 out of their last 5 games.

On the other hand, Rangers are on a two-game winning streak and hope to continue this with a home win. We like the Rangers in this game.

Our Pick: Rangers on the Moneyline

Pittsburgh Penguins @ Boston Bruins

Boston is having a great season so far and they are looking like a team ready to get back to the Finals and get the Cup this year. They have a record of 10 wins and just 3 losses and look to keep their good form going against Pittsburgh.

However, Penguins are also solid this season with a record of 8-6. Unfortunately for them, they are usually getting beaten at Boston since they have lost six straight games to Bruins on the road. We believe this trend will continue tonight.

Our Pick: Bruins on the Moneyline

Nashville Predators @ Detroit Red Wings

Predators are having a good start to the season with a record of 8 wins and 6 losses. On the other hand, Red Wings are sitting near the bottom of the table and have lost 4 out of their 5 matches. Although we lean towards Predators in this game despite their 2-game losing streak, we suggest taking a look at goals.

While Red Wings are not very efficient with an average of around 2 goals scored per match, they are also bad defensively and allow almost 4 goals per contest. It seems that taking over in this game is a smart choice.

Calgary Flames @ Washington Capitals

Calgary is on the road trip in the East and their next stop is Washington where they will be looking for their third win in the row on this tough road trip. However, this is probably their hardest task yet since Capitals are currently on top of the Eastern Conference with a record of 10-5.

In addition to this, Capitals are on a three-game winning streak and we like their chances in this one despite their average record at home with 3 wins and 3 losses.

Our Pick: Capitals on the Moneyline

Chicago Blackhawks @ Anaheim Ducks

Blackhawks are sitting at the bottom of the Western Conference and it does not seem like they are about to get out of there anytime soon. Now they are going to Anaheim to play with Ducks, who are playing well this season and have a record of 9-6.

Despite this, we feel that it is better to back under in this game. After all, Blackhawks have scored one or fewer goals in 4 out of their 5 most recent matches, while Ducks are not really a great scoring team.

Hurricanes are having a great season and a record of 9-4. It seems that their good form is here to stay and we expect them to fight for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. New Jersey Devils, on the other hand, are at the bottom of the conference with a record of 2-9.

With this being a second game of back-to-back for both teams, we don’t expect much in terms of goals. So we suggest staying safe and backing Hurricane on the moneyline.

Our Pick: Hurricanes on the Moneyline

Montreal Canadiens @ Dallas Stars

After a disappointing start, Dallas has found a way to turn things around and start winning. Stars are on a two-game winning streak and have won 4 out of their last 5 games. However, Canadiens are also on a good run, winning three straight games.

So, this should be a very tight contest and we would avoid betting on final score. Instead, we suggest backing under since Dallas is one of the worst teams in scoring and one of the best defensive teams.

Our Pick: Under 5.5 Total Goals

Detroit Red Wings @ Florida Panthers

Panthers are looking like a borderline playoff team this season with a record of 6-7. They are also on a good run with three straight wins, including a win against Avalanche on the road.

On the other hand, Red Wings are not playing well this season and they come into this game after a 7-3 loss against Hurricanes last night. We expect them to lose another game and with a solid margin.

Our Pick: Panthers on the Puckline

Minnesota Wild @ St. Louis Blues

St. Louis is playing well in recent games, after getting off to a bit rocky start after their championship season. They have 4 wins in last 5 games and have started to climb the standings. On the other hand, Wild is sitting near the bottom of the conference and doesn’t seem likely to move much higher.

Given the fact that these two times played on Wednesday and that Blues won that game 2-1, we expect another win for the reigning champs.

Tampa Bay Lightning @ New York Islanders

In what should be a tight contest, Lighting is a slight odds favorite despite the fact that Islanders are in much better form and have a home court advantage. In fact, Islanders are on a 7-game winning streak and have won their last four games at home.

The only thing in favor of Lightning is the recent head-to-head score since they have won 8 out of 10 most recent matches against Islanders. Still, we feel this is a good opportunity to take advantage of great odds and bet on the in-form team.

Our Pick: Islanders on the Moneyline

Columbus Blue Jackets @ St. Louis Blues

The reigning champs are playing well this season and have a record of 7-4 at the moment. However, they have won 4 out of their last 5 matches and seem to be only getting in form. On the other hand, Blue Jackets are at 5-7 and come into this game after two straight losses.

With recent head-to-head history on the side of the Stanley Cup winners as well, this seems like a clear-cut win for St. Louis.

Our Pick: St. Louis on the Moneyline

Dallas Stars @ Colorado Avalanche

Colorado is tied for the second place in the Western Conference and is having a great season so far. However, they have had a bit of a blimp with two straight losses, both of which have come at their home court.

Dallas, however, has been struggling this season and playing well below expectations. But they have been on a good run lately, winning 4 out of their 5 matches. Still, this seems like the perfect opportunity for Avalanche to get back on the winning track after a bad run.

Our Pick: Avalanche on the Moneyline

Vancouver Canucks @ Anaheim Ducks

Both teams are playing well this season, although Canucks are in a bit better form with four wins in last five games. However, this should be a very tight contest and we feel it’s best to leave the final score out of your betting plans.

Instead, you should try betting on over since both teams have strong offenses and should score plenty of goals together.

Predators are cruising right now. They are on a 4-game winning streak and have one of the best home court records in the entire league with just one loss in eight matches. On the other hand, Flames only have two wins in road games so far and they come into this match after two losses in a row.

With all that being said, it is only logical to back the home team in this matchup, especially since odds on moneyline are not that bad.

Our Pick: Predators on the Moneyline

Montreal Canadians @ Vegas Golden Knights

Canadians enter this game with a record of around .500 and they will be looking to improve their standings. They also won their last game against Maple Leafs and probably feel confident enough before this match.

On the other hand, Vegas is having a good season, with 8 wins in 13 matches. However, they are not really great at home, having a record of 4-3 so far. Couple that with low odds on Golden Knights and we feel it’s better to bet on goals since it seems like over is a good choice for these two teams.

Tampa Bay is having a disappointing season so far, especially considering the fact that they were Vegas favorites for the title. They have a record of 6-6 and come into this game with a 2-game losing streak. However, Devils are even worse since they stand at the bottom of the Conference with just two wins in the season.

When you take into account that Lightning has 7 wins in their last 10 meetings, it seems prudent to take a chance on solid odds and back Tampa Bay.

Our Pick: Lightning on the Moneyline

Edmonton Oilers @ Columbus Blue Jackets

Both teams enter this game with similar records, so we expect a pretty tight contest tonight. While both of them have suffered somewhat surprising losses in the last game, they will look to bounce back with a win.

For this reason, we feel that final result should be avoided and we suggest betting on goals. Oilers are one of the more efficient teams in the league and with Columbus needing to set the pace early on, we expect this game to have plenty of goals.

Our Suggestion: Over 6 Total Goals

Minnesota Wild @ St. Louis Blues

The reigning champs are still far from the form that helped them win the Stanley Cup. They are 8th in the Western Conference at the moment with a score of 6-6 but we fully expect them to pick up the pace in the future.

Hosting Minnesota actually seems like a perfect place to start. With one of the worst records in the league, Wild will struggle to get something out of this game as well.

Calgary Flames @ Carolina Hurricanes

Carolina is having a strong start to the season, with 7 wins and 4 losses. However, they were on a three-game losing streak before they won against Blackhawks in their last game. On the other hand, Flames are pretty inconsistent this season, with a record of 6-7.

Even though Flames have a great record against teams from Metropolitan Division, and have 4 wins in 5 most recent games against Hurricanes, we prefer Hurricanes in this match because they have been great at home this season.

Our Pick: Hurricanes on the Moneyline

Philadelphia Flyers @ Pittsburgh Penguins

In what promises to be a very tight contest, Penguins are hosting their fierce division rivals Flyers. Both teams enter this game with similar records, although Flyers seem to be in a bit better form at the moment.

However, betting on final score in this game is better avoided. We suggest backing under tonight despite the fact that both teams score more than 3 goals on average. The reason lies in their head-to-head record, where these teams combined for 6 or fewer goals in three out of their last four games.

Our Pick: Under 6.5 Total Goals

San Jose Sharks @ Boston Bruins

San Jose is having a bad season so far, at least compared to what they probably expected before it all started. They also lost 4 out of their last 5 games. On the other hand, Bruins are playing well and have a record of 8-3 at the moment.

In addition to this, Bruins won 7 out of their last 10 meetings with Sharks. With all this to back it up, we feel that betting on Bruins is pretty safe thing to do.

Our Pick: Bruins on the Puckline

Chicago Blackhawks @ Nashville Predators

Predators are on a good run, winning their last three games in a row. They also lead the league in goals scored with an average slightly above 4 goals per game. On the other hand, Blackhawks are struggling at the moment, with an unimpressive 3-7 record to start the season.

Although we lean towards Predators here and it does seem like a safe moneyline bet, we prefer goals in this match. We suggest backing over since we expect Predators to score like they did so far, with a couple of goals from Blackhawks to push the total over 6.

Coyotes are on a great run, winning five out of their last six matches. However, Sabres are also playing well this season, with a 9-3 record that makes them share the top spot in the Eastern Conference. So, we expect a pretty tight contest here.

But despite Coyotes being in a good form, Sabres area great home team and have a significant advantage in head-to-head matches with Coyotes, with 7 wins in their last 10 meetings. We like the odds on Sabres as well.

Our Pick: Sabres on the Moneyline

Florida Panthers @ Vancouver Canucks

All things point toward Canucks in this game – they are one of the best teams in the league and have an impressive 6-1 home record. However, Panthers are coming into this match after an important victory against Oilers and have plenty of confidence left for tonight. So, we feel it’s best to avoid betting on the final score.

Instead, we suggest backing over total goals in this game since both teams average 3.5 goals per game and generally play some very entertaining hockey.

Oilers are in great form, winning 8 out of their 11 games to start the season. On the other hand, Panthers are having a bad run, with 4 wins in 10 matches so far. That’s why we were surprised to see the odds which favor Panthers for tonight’s game.

We believe that this is a good match to back Oilers and take advantage to those surprising odds.

Our Pick: Oilers on the Moneyline

St. Louis Blues @ Detroit Red Wings

Detroit Red Wings are having a pretty bad season, with just 3 wins in 11 matches. On the other hand, reigning champions are still looking for their best form since their current score is 5-6. While we believe they will find a way to win this game, we suggest avoiding final score and sticking with total goals.

Since Red Wings are not the best scoring team out there, having scored two or fewer goals in their last seven games, this seems like a perfect match to back under.

Our Pick: Under 5.5 Total Goals

San Jose Sharks @ Ottawa Senators

Neither team has had the start to the season they were looking for. San Jose started the season well but they are currently on a bad run with just one win in their last four games. Senators only have 2 wins in 10 matches this season.

While it seems that this is going to be a very tight contest, we believe that Sharks have what it takes to break the bad run and get a win here.

Blackhawks enter this game with three straight losses. In addition to this, their poor overall record is further accentuated by the fact that they only played one game away from home. So, it seems safe to expect that their poor form will continue on the road.

On the other hand, Carolina has just one loss in four home games. And although they also enter this game with a 3-game losing streak, they seem like a safe bet against Chicago.

Our Pick: Hurricanes on the Puckline

Columbus Blue Jackets @ Philadelphia Flyers

Both teams have won two games in a row and while Columbus has better overall score, it seem like a slight advantage should be give to Flyers since they have been pretty good at home so far, losing only one in four games.

However, we feel that final result is best avoided here. With both teams scoring an average of less than 3 goals, betting on under seems like a solid choice.

Our Pick: Under 6 Total Goals

St. Louis Blues @ Boston Bruins

This should be one of the more exciting matches this Saturday since both teams are playing well and it is, of course, the rematch of the last year’s finals that went into 7 games. So, we expect a tight contest here as well, even though Boston is in a bit better form.

Perhaps it is better to stick with goals in this match. Both teams average around 3 goals per match, so over may be a good option here.

Our Pick: Over 5.5 Total Goals

Anaheim Ducks @ Colorado Avalanche

Colorado stands on top of the Western Conference at the moment but they will be without Rantanen for this match, who is their first scorer. On the other hand, Ducks have started off the season well but they have been on a bad run recently, losing three matches in a row.

We feel that Avalanche has an edge for this one, despite the absence of their best scorer. Their home record is impressive since they haven’t lost a game in four home matches this season.

Despite this, we feel that this will be a tight contest and maybe even go into overtime. If you like to chase the odds, put your money on a draw. Otherwise, stick to Sharks on the puckline.

Our Pick: Sharks on the Puckline

New York Islanders @ Ottawa Senators

Islanders are having a good season so far with a bit of a surprising record of 6-3. In addition to this, they are on a five-game winning streak at the moment. On the other hand, Senators have only managed to win two games this season and don’t look so hot right now.

This could be a game where they push to turn their fortunes over but we like to back in-form teams, so our choice is to bet on Islanders here.

Our Pick: Islanders on the Moneyline

Washington Capitals @ Vancouver Canucks

Both teams are entering this match with positive records and a win in their last game. This seems like a good game to avoid betting on the winner, which is exactly why we suggest betting on total goals.

With both goalies being in great form and standing at below 2.17 GAA, it seems that 6.5 goals is pretty high. We suggest taking under in this game.

However, Rangers are 6 out of 10 against Sabres in the past meetings, which is something that can give them hope.

But despite this, betting on Sabres seems like a smart decision, even on the puckline if you are brave enough and want better odds.

Our Pick: Sabres on the Moneyline

San Jose Sharks @ Montreal Canadiens

Both teams have been inconsistent this season, although it seems like Canadiens are in better form at the moment. And since they play in front of their fans, it stands to reason that they can pull off a win here.

However, we are not so convinced and prefer to bet on total goals here. These teams scored fewer than seven goals combined in their recent meetings, so we suggest that you back under here.

Our Pick: Under 6.5 Total Goals

Los Angeles Kings @ St. Louis Blues

It seems that Kings have found their form lately since they enter this duel with a two-win streak. Despite this, they remain near the bottom of the conference. On the other hand, Blues have been inconsistent but they are still the reigning champions and a better team of the two.

With all that in mind, and with the home crowd to back them up, it seems that Blues will come on top in this game.

Our Pick: Blues on the Puckline

Minnesota Wild @ Nashville Predators

Minnesota is struggling this season, going into this game with a score of 3-6. However, they won their last two games and they hope to make the winning streak longer this evening. But Predators are playing great hockey this season and have the best home record in the conference.

In addition to this, Nashville has won the last six games between these teams, so backing Nashville seems like a safe bet.

This should be a pretty close game since both teams are playing in bad form, although Detroit has 2 wins more for the season than Senators, who only have one 1 in 8 matches. So, it’s best to avoid final score and stick to total goals here.

In this department, both teams score less than 2.5 goals per game. Of course, they concede more but at 6.5 goals, it’s safer to assume that they will go under than over.

Our Pick: Under 6.5 Total Goals

Pittsburgh Penguins @ Tampa Bay Lighting

Once again, we expect a tight contest in this game too. Tampa Bay is not playing as well as we all expected, having a score of 4 wins and 4 losses. On the other hand, Penguins are at 6-4 and coming into this match in better fort.

Still, Tampa Bay is a good team and they are playing home, so we suggest taking them on the moneyline, especially since Penguins will be without a few important players for this matchup.

Everything points out to Sabres, which is why it’s a bit surprising to see solid odds on the moneyline. Take the opportunity.

Our Pick: Sabres on the Moneyline

Arizona Coyotes @ New York Rangers

While New York Rangers are still looking for their best form, Coyotes are playing good hockey as of late. And even though they are not that great on the road, we still believe that they can come up with a win here, especially since their goalie is in great form.

In addition to this, Rangers are only 1-2 in their home games and they don’t instill any confidence that they can turn things around.

Our Pick: Coyotes on the Moneyline

Edmonton Oilers @ Minnesota Wild

Even though Minnesota won the last match at home, while Oilers lost their last match, the two teams are miles apart at the moment, both in quality and standings. And with Oilers looking to bounce back from their loss, this seems like a perfect opportunity to do so.

We believe that Oilers can take the win but if you are not so sure, you can take them on the puckline instead of the moneyline.

Flyers got off to a flying start of the season with two straight wins but quickly regressed and went on a 4-game losing streak that is still active, scoring only seven goals in the process. On the other hand, Vegas is playing great hockey and is currently on a run of four wins out of the last five games.

With all this in mind, plus considering the fact that Vegas is simply a better team, we recommend taking solid odds on them on the moneyline.

Our Pick: Golden Knights on the Moneyline

Colorado Avalanche @ St. Louis Blues

The defending champions are not having the best start of the season. With 3 wins out of the first 8 games, and with 4 losses in a row, Blues enter this game with a bit of an imperative to win. On the other hand, Colorado has lost only once so far and could be a solid bet here.

However, with a match as tightly contested as this one, betting on goals can be a safer way to go, especially over since Colorado is one of the best-scoring teams in the league.

Our Pick: Over 6 Total Goals

Ottawa Senators @ Dallas Stars

Both teams are having a pretty bad start to the season, although Senators are in a little bit worse position since they only have one win so far, while Dallas has two, including the win over Flyers in their last match.

Add a home arena advantage to the mix and Dallas seems like a safe bet in this one, even on the puckline.

New York Rangers started the season with a couple of wins but then they lost 3 straight games. On the other hand, Canucks were on a 4-game winning streak before the last night’s loss to New Jersey Devils.

So, with this being their second game of back-to-back, and the game scheduled for the afternoon slot, it seems like Rangers have a small advantage simply for being fresher. We suggest taking Rangers on the moneyline here.

Our Pick: Rangers on the Moneyline

Washington Capitals @ Chicago Blackhawks

Both teams are getting into this match with some positive momentum after a rocky start to the season. With this in mind, we suggest staying clear of the final outcome, although our bet would be to go with Capitals if we had to choose.

The safer wager at this time is betting on total goals. Both teams are proficient in scoring, especially lately. Capitals went over 6.5 total goals in their last three matches, while Blackhawks scored 3 or more goals in three of their last four matches. This seems like a clear-cut over.

Our Pick: Over 6.5 Total Goals

Edmonton Oilers @ Winnipeg Jets

Edmonton is playing some of the best hockey in the league to start the season, which is reflected in their score of 8-1. On the other hand, Jets are still looking for good form, especially at home where they lost three straight games.

While Jets will be looking to end the bad run and snap their home losing streak, we don’t see this as a game where they can do it. In most cases, our choice is going with a team in better form, which is exactly what we suggest here as well.

Dallas is playing the second game of back-to-back, after they lost to Penguins last night. And they are desperate for a win since they have just one win in 9 matches this season. But we seriously doubt that the win will come here.

Don’t bet on the winner here. We feel that betting on goals is a better choice. Both teams are not great at scoring and with Starts tired from last night’s match, this looks like a big under.

Our Pick: Under 5.5 Total Goals

Calgary Flames @ Los Angeles Kings

Calgary will be looking to get a third win in the row, although they have been poor away from home with just 1 win in 4 matches so far. However, Kings are not that great at home either – they also come into this game with just 1 win in 4 home matches.

With this in mind and also taking into account generally better form for Calgary, we suggest taking Flames on the moneyline.

Our Pick: Flames on the Moneyline

Boston Bruins @ Toronto Maple Leafs

This should be a tightly contested matchup, which is why we prefer to stay away from predicting the winner despite leaning towards Bruins here.

Instead, betting on goals seems like a smarter play. With total set at 6.5, we feel that under is a pretty good bet. Boston has great defense that limits opponents to just 1.86 goals per game. We believe that their defense will make a difference here, so bet on under.

Our Pick: Under 6.5 Total Goals

Ottawa Senators @ Arizona Coyotes

So far, Senators are looking like one of the worst NHL teams. They have only pulled off one win in their 6 games so far, although it has been a surprising one against Tampa Bay.

On the other hand, Coyotes are playing well, entering this matchup with a two-game winning streak. Also, the games that they have lost this season have all been decided by one-goal difference, so a win for Coyotes seems like a pretty safe bet.

Colorado is in good form at the start of the season, although they are coming to Florida after an overtime loss to Penguins. On the other hand, Florida won their last game but that was only the second win for them in the first 6 matches of the season.

And even though Florida has a good head-to-head record against Avalanche in their last 10 games, this still seems like a game where Colorado has an advantage. They are also a better team, so we suggest taking them on the moneyline.

Our Pick: Avalanche on the Moneyline

New York Rangers @ Washington Capitals

Capitals are pretty strong at home, while New York Rangers are having a bad run of two lost games in a row. And while taking Capitals on the puckline sounds like a good investment, we suggest staying clear of the final score and going with total goals.

After all, both teams score over 3 goals on average this season, while their games are almost always fast-paced and rich in goals. Three of their last four matches last season had more than 7 goals, so our suggestion is to bet on over again.

Our Pick: Over 6.5 Total Goals

Detroit Red Wings @ Edmonton Oilers

This is supposed to be tight duel, with both teams playing well and having a strong start to the season. For that reason, it’s not easy to predict how the game could go and who may win, so taking puckline on Detroit may not be a bad choice.

However, a better choice is to put your money on over. Edmonton averages 5 goals in their home games so far, while Detroit scores an average of 3 goals on their away games. Over seems like a pretty safe bet.

Our Pick: Over 6.5 Total Goals

Carolina Hurricanes @ Anaheim Ducks

Caroline is playing some great hockey at the moment, which is why they are favorites in this game even though Anaheim is playing on its home turf and has a pretty great season as well, with 5 wins and 2 loses. This seems like a match that may be as closely contested as possible, so we suggest avoiding any final outcome bets.

It’s perhaps better to put your money on under because it both teams have great defenses. In addition to this, Hurricanes allowed 5 goals in their last match and we don’t expect that to happen again.

Both of these teams are pretty inconsistent and wildly unpredictable. For this reason, you should stay away from picking a winner, even with the puckline handicap.

On the other hand, Islanders are giving up 5 goals per game in their road games this season, while Winnipeg allows over 4 goals per game on their home turf. That’s why over on total goals here is set at 6 goals but even with that little obstacle, we would still pick over in this game. Of course, you can always go with alternate bet of 5.5 goals if you don’t mind smaller odds.

Blues enter this game after a two-game losing streak, while Canucks are on a good run with 3 wins in a row. However, Vancouver will be playing without their starting goalie Jacob Markstrom who was given a day off for personal reasons.

And while the champions are still looking for their form, we suggest going with the home team on the moneyline.

Our Pick: Blues on the Moneyline

Tampa Bay Lightning @ Boston Bruins

It may be tempting to go with Lightning when you look at the odds but Boston is simply in better form and with the home court advantage that should prove to be enough for them to win.

However, perhaps a safer bet is under 6.5 goals. Even though both teams have good offenses, the reason for good home results for Boston lies in their defense since they are only giving up one goal per game at their turf. Add a high total and you have a solid under bet at good odds.

Our Pick: Under 6.5 Total Goals

Detroit Red Wings @ Calgary Flames

Detroit is on a road trip that is not really going well at all. They lost the last game at Vancouver 5-1 and were never really in the game at all. On the other hand, Calgary is playing well at home and has a positive record with Red Wings in recent past, winning 7 out of 10 last duels.

All of this is more than enough to take a puckline on the home team rather than trying to guess the number of goals.

Our Pick: Calgary on the Puckline

NHL 2020 Weekly Predictions – Game Week 1

Anaheim Ducks @ Columbus Blue Jackets

Game Starts on Friday, 7:00 PM ET

Jackets had three days off this week, which can help them stay fresh and give them a slight advantage over Anaheim in this match. However, the Ducks are on a 3-game winning streak, 2 of which came on the road as well. And while Ducks are favorites and a good choice to win this game as well, we would recommend taking the under here since the Ducks have played under in their last six games and Columbus is unlikely to score many goals.

Our Pick: Under 5.5 Game Totals

New Jersey Devils @ Boston Bruins

Game Starts on Saturday, 7:00 PM ET

With both teams coming into this game after a loss on Thursday, they will be looking to bounce back to the right track. However, we feel that Bruins have a bit of an advantage here. They have the home court, it’s the season opener at their arena and Devils are going to be playing their third away game in just five nights. We suggest taking the moneyline and staying clear of the puckline, however.

Our Pick: Bruins on the Moneyline

Tampa Bay Lightning @ Ottawa Senators

Game Starts on Saturday, 4:00 PM ET

Senators started the season with three straight losses, two of which have come at their home court. And while Tampa Bay won half their four games to date, they are strong favorites for this game for a reason. This seems like an easy win for Lighting and another home loss for Ottawa.

Our Bet: Lightning on the Puckline

Calgary Flames @ San Jose Sharks

Game Starts on Sunday, 10:00 PM ET

Sharks are going into this match after a series of bad results. They ended their streak of 4 straight losses against Blackhawks on Thursday, so they may carry that momentum into this game. However, the less risky bet here is over since Sharks and Flames have been scoring a lot of goals since the start of the season.

Our Pick: Over 5.5 Game Totals

NHL Predictions 2020

After the NHL last season, the exciting, crazy season, we had a summer to rest and recoup. Well, the summer is now over and the new NHL season is officially here, ready to take us for another spin on the ride for the Stanley Cup.

Some rosters have gone through significant changes, others remained mostly the same but one thing is sure once again – it is going to be a tight race to the top. So, let’s take a quick look at some of the top teams before we try to predict the outcome of the 2019/2020 NHL season.

NHL 2020 Picks: Top Teams to Watch

St. Louis Blues

Not many people would put their money on St. Louis last year, especially after they fired their coach after a wee into the season and after the reports of players fighting in practice. Yet, in the end, Blues took home the Cup, which only shows how unpredictable NHL can be.

The unexpected emergence of top goalie Jordan Binnington after he got his chance in January propelled the team to glory and with the new season on the way, St. Louis hopes rely mostly on his back since their championship run heavily depended on amazing defense and goalkeeping.

Blues have a solid team with Tarasenko, O’Reilly and a young prospect Vince Dunn. The team lost Pat Maroon and Justin Faulk this offseason but their championship roster is mostly back. However, since no team except for Pittsburgh Penguins managed to win the title two years in a row, a repeat for Blues is a hard sell.

Boston Bruins

The team that was one win away from the championship, at their own TD Garden, is mostly back this year with only a few depth players leaving this summer. Will that be enough to repeat the success of last year and maybe make that one crucial step forward remains to be seen.

Bruins relied on stellar defense last year and the Big Three of Marchand, Bergeron, and Pastrnak in the offense. While the team remained the same, that also means that they didn’t add anything new and that the infamous Game 7 loss at home can prove to be a pressure point this year as well, despite the mountain of experience Bruins have in their core players who are all over 30, David Pastrnak excluded.

Tampa Bay Lightning

Last year’s regular-season saw the unprecedented dominance by one team – Tampa Bay Lighting. They tied the record for most wins with 62, the same number of wins as Detroit Red Wings back in 1996. But in the playoffs, it all came crashing down for Tampa Bay. Lightning became the only Presidents’ Trophy winner to be swept in the first round after they lost to Columbus in a staggering and disappointing manner.

However, Tampa Bay is still the best team of the league on paper. They kept all of their core players, like Steven Stamkos, Brayden Point, Nikita Kucherov and Andrei Vasilevskiy. Let’s not forget Anthony Cirelli, who may not be the flashiest hockey player but his impressive rookie season can certainly keep Lightning fans hopeful for even better performances.

As one of the favorites to win it all, Tampa Bay is out for revenge and redemption and that may just be the tipping point in their favor this year.

Toronto Maple Leafs

After losing to Bruins in a first-round Game 7 for two years in the row, Maple Leafs are certainly hoping they could avoid Boston this year, at least in the first round. Toronto made quite a splash in the market this offseason, trading Nazem Kadri to Avalanche and getting Tyson Barrie in return, which is exactly the kind of defensive upgrade that they needed. The team also received Alexander Kerfoot in return.

One big problem that Toronto is facing is the dragged out negotiation process with RFA Mitch Marner but the team that has Auston Matthews, John Tavares, Jason Spezza and William Nylander has to at least be included in the championship discussion.

Carolina Hurricanes

After reaching the Eastern Conference Finals last year, Carolina Hurricanes will be hoping to achieve the same feat this year as well. However, that may be easier said than done considering the fact that they lost some important players this offseason, most notably Micheal Ferland, Justin Williams and Curtis McElhinney.

On the other hand, the team tied down Sebastian Aho to a team-friendly contract. Aho and Teuvo Teravainen will be leading the way for Hurricanes this year as well, with some solid additions like Erik Haula, James Reimer and Ryan Dzingel helping them out. The Canes also added Jake Gardiner and improved their already stacked defense.

Playoffs should be a certainty for this team, while anything more than that is a long shot but not an impossible task.

San Jose Sharks

Reaching the Western Conference Finals last year is a great result, albeit it came as a result of many lucky events and whistles along the way. This season, however, Sharks will be without Joe Pavelski for the first time since 2006, after the veteran left in free agency to join Dallas Stars.

But the main thing that Sharks had to do this offseason, they did it. Signing an expensive long-term deal with the star defensemen Erik Karlsson means that Sharks will rely heavily on their defense this season, especially since Karlsson is paired with a couple of great defensemen in Brent Burns and Marc-Edouard Vlasic.

If Timo Meier can replace Pavelski to some extent, San Jose Sharks can have a great season and hope for something more than Conference Finals.

Colorado Avalanche

After reaching the playoffs and winning the first round last year, Colorado will rightfully look to go a bit further this year since they have an amazing young core that seems poised to contend for the Cup in the years to come.

The team lead by young superstars Mikko Rantanen and Nathan MacKinnon is further empowered with additions of Nazem Kadri, Andre Burakovsky and Joonas Donskoi. While they did lose a great defensemen Tyson Barrie in the process, the Avs still have a strong defense that features Cale Makar, Sam Girard and a No.4 pick from this summer, Bowen Byram.

While Colorado still seems like a team built for the future, their time may come sooner than most people expect, perhaps even this upcoming season.

2019-2020 NHL Season Picks – Our Predictions

With the last season playoffs still fresh in our memories, it seems like an impossible task to predict anything about the 2019/2020 NHL season. After all, last season, for the first time in history, all four Division winners lost to Wildcard holders in the first round of the playoffs!

Despite that, we will bravely try to predict some of the outcomes for this new, and hopefully equally exciting NHL season.

NY Rangers Make the Playoffs

After making a few huge moves in the offseason, like adding a top free agent Artemi Panarin, great defensemen Jacob Trouba and Adam Fox and a hot prospect and a potential superstar Kaapo Kakko as the No. 2 overall draft pick, New York Rangers seem poised for some success in the future.

While still considered underdogs to make the playoffs, especially since they play in a tough Metropolitan Division, betting on Rangers to do it represents a solid value for money.

Colorado Makes the Finals

Even though Colorado lacks the experience to get to the top, they have all the talent in the world to be considered contenders already. And while we agree that Avalanche getting into the Finals is a long shot, it is a risk worth taking from our perspective.

After all, they are young and hungry and talented – what more do you want to take a swing on their potential?

Tampa Bay Wins the Championship

Their collapse in the playoffs last year didn’t hurt their odds at the bookmakers – Lighting is the top favorite to win the Stanley Cup this season.

And while it may seem risky to bet on a team that seemed so dominant in the regular season only to come crashing down in the postseason, we like to believe that they learned from their mistakes and that they will show character this year.

2018/2019 NHL Season Preview

St. Louis Blues produced one of the best showings of the entire season right when they needed it most to clinch their inaugural Stanley Cup trophy in the winner-gets-all 7th game of the NHL final away on Boston Bruins’ ice. The previous season thus ended in the most exciting of fashions. We can’t wait for October and the kick off to the new campaign which will be the 103rd edition of the competition.

It is still too early to give accurate predictions in terms of future bets, but we will go out with the earliest power rankings, or at least the way we (and bookies) see the main Stanley Cup contenders for the 2019/20 campaign.

Obviously, we can’t have a genuine guess on teams’ rosters for the next season which is why we will rather rely more on their previous term campaigns. Here is how we see main candidates for division winners and Stanley Cup contenders.

Metropolitan Division

Washington Capitals

The Caps are always among top contenders for the Metropolitan Division title. They headed into the last season with sky-high ambitions following the previous Stanley Cup trophy. The team did well in the regular season winning their respective division ahead of NY Islanders and Pittsburgh Penguins.

Nonetheless, they failed to meet expectations in the play-offs falling to Wild Card Carolina Hurricanes in seven games of the opening round. Team’s main star Alex Ovechkin enjoyed an extraordinary campaign with 89 points in the regular season. He added four goals and five points in the play-offs round against the Hurricanes, but it was not enough for the team to go beyond the opening stage. Rookies have gained the much-needed experience and if the veteran Russian superstar is capable of maintaining the highest level of his game, we can expect a lot from the Capitals. The value is just huge with the Caps priced up at +2,000 to go all the way with most US bookmakers.

Atlantic Division Predictions

Tampa Bay Lightning

Tampa Bay had one of the best regular season runs in the history of the game. They won as many as 62 of 82 matches tying the anthological Detroit Red Wings regular season streak in the 1995/96 season.  As many as 30 of these wins came on the road. The team topped their division with a 21-point cushion on Calgary Flames and Stanley Cup finalists Boston Bruins.

The Lightning bagged an incredible 3.96 goals per game and they’ve notched six or more goals on 19 separate occasions during the regular season. Nonetheless, it all counted for little as they just failed to find such form in the play-offs where they shockingly got swept by Columbus (0-4) at the very start of the post-season play.

The team should keep their main stars for the 2019/20 campaign. The regular season title should not come in question, but can the Lightning leave a bigger impact in the play-offs this time around? They are bookies’ main favourites to go all the way and lift the crown. The Lightning are +600 to win the Stanley Cup 2019/20 with SugarHouse.

Central Division Preview

Louis Blues

The Blues got off to a modest kick off to the previous season. They hovered around the basement in the first half of the campaign. The breakthrough moment came in January when goaltender Jordan Binnigton made his debut. He had a remarkable .927 save percentage and only 1.89 GAA until the end of the regular season.

Such stellar spell of form secured Binnington a first-team spot on the expense of Jake Allen. The rest is history. The Blues ended the regular season with eight wins in ten games and took advantage of the momentum to stun the likes of Winnipeg, Dallas, San Jose and Boston and eventually lift their first ever Stanley Cup silverware.

The reigning champions have to be considered as genuine contenders, but we do not expect them to repeat such an amazing play-offs run. There are many teams with much more quality in their ranks which is why we would not suggest backing the Blues to go all the way this time around. You may want to bet Unders in their matches with an incredible Binnigton on goal, though. In accordance to what we wrote, the Blues are +1,400 to match last season success.

Pacific Division Betting Predictions

Calgary Flames

Calgary enjoyed one of the best regular season campaigns in a while last year. They were the dominant force in the Pacific Division and ended the season with the second-best record in the entire league. They won 50 games and had a +62 goal difference. Nevertheless, they had such a forgettable run in the play-offs winning just one of four matches against Wild Card Colorado Avalanche.

The Flames could be one of the shadow favourites, but we will be careful with stronger assumptions with as many as many as four months remaining before the start to the new season. You will find the Flames at +2,000 odds to lift the trophy with most US sportsbooks.

Rest of the League

We see the aforementioned teams as main candidates for the Stanley Cup trophy next season. Nevertheless, there are plenty of other outfits which could steal the show, especially when the play-offs kick off.

Last season SC finalists Boston Bruins are certainly worth mentioning, as well as Toronto Maple Leafs. Toronto Raptors won the NBA Championship last season (their first title). Can the hockey squad do the same? They certainly have a chance with this squad on disposal, but a lot will depend on results of Mitch Marner negotiations.

San Jose Sharks, Vegas Golden Knights, New York Islanders and Pittsburgh Penguins complete our list of potential surprises.

NHL Tipsters to Follow

We closely followed and read what experts had to say in the previous NHL campaign. Based on everything we saw, there are two names which pop up. They are definitely worth following for the next season. This is why:

David Kelly

David Kelly is an experienced bettor from Toronto, Canada. He spent five years of NHL research for his academic work and is certainly a reliable person for that matter. The Canadian was especially impressive with the Over/Under market last season, hitting just under 80% of this type of bets.

Those who followed his predictions with $100 singles earned almost $3,500 profit in the 2017/18 season.  He made a $1,000+ profit from past 34 NHL picks.

Pete Blackburn

Pete Blackburn is CBS Sports young gun when it comes to ice-hockey analyses. He made more than $600 profit from past 19 NHL bets (13 winners and 6 losses). Blackburn has been CBS Sports leading NHL expert for two years. He can only be better in years to come with the experience gained and we most certainly expect a lot from this Boston-native pundit.
